You Can Now Fully Charge Your Electric Car’s Battery In Just 15 Minutes With ABB’s Amazing EV Charger

Electric Cars Report

One of the world’s leading global technology companies, ABB, has just launched the fastest charging experience that you can find anywhere in the world with their innovative all-in-one Electric Vehicle (EV) charger.

In the company’s words, the new ‘Terra 360 is powerful, flexible, user-friendly and designed for accessibility.’ In fact, one of its best features is the fact that you don’t have to wait for others to finish charging their EVs before you begin charging yours. That’s because it can actually simultaneously charge at least four vehicles at a time due to its highly effective power distribution.

With a maximum output of 360 kW, the new Terra 360 charger is also able to fully charge any type of electric car in just 15 minutes, or possibly even less. This meets the needs of a number of different types of EV users, regardless of whether they need to fast charge or just top up their EV battery as they tend to their other daily activities.

President of ABB’s E-mobility Division, Frank Muehlon, explained, “With governments around the world writing public policy that favors electric vehicles and charging networks to combat climate change, the demand for EV charging infrastructure, especially charging stations that are fast, convenient and easy to operate is higher than ever.”

“The Terra 360, with charging options that fit a variety of needs, is the key to fulfilling that demand and accelerating e-mobility adoption globally,” he added.

Meanwhile, Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer at ABB, Theodor Swedjemark, said in a statement, “It’s an exciting day for ABB, who as the global leader in electric vehicle fast charging, is playing a key role in enabling a low carbon society. With road transport accounting for nearly a fifth of global CO2 emissions, e-mobility is critical to achieving the Paris climate goal. We will also lead by example by switching our entire fleet of more than 10,000 vehicles to non-emitting vehicles.”

Future plans show that the ABB charging stations will be available in Europe at the end of 2021. Although for the USA, Latin America, and Asia Pacific regions, they will be launched in their areas by 2022, all designed with the EV drivers in mind, depending on their daily needs and expectations.

Moreover, the dynamic lighting system that can be found on the charger also guides each user through the entire charging process by showing the State of Charge (SoC) of the EV battery of the vehicle, as well as the remaining time it will take for the battery to get to the end of an optimal charging session. Even better, these EV chargers are also accessible to those in wheelchairs, offering an ergonomic cable management system that allows drivers to easily plug in to the charger without much effort.

Aside from placing these Terra 360 chargers at fueling stations, they will also be located at a number of retail locations and convenience stores. And for companies that use EVs, these chargers will also be installed within the company locations to allow easier charging for their electric fleet cars, trucks, and vans.

Considering that up to four vehicles can be charged at once, these chargers will also give leeway for either a lengthy overnight charge, or a quick 15-minute charge to refill the battery. In addition, these Terra 360 chargers don’t require major amounts of space for installation, which also means they can be placed in parking lots or small depots that don’t have much space to offer.

Incredibly, these chargers are also customizable, which means that customers can choose to personalize its appearance. This means that customers can choose to “brand” their chargers using a variety of foiling or possibly changing up the LED light strip colors. Customers can even opt to include an advertisement screen at 27-inches, which can play their business pictures and videos if the company should so want.

ABB first began making their way in the e-mobility market back in 2010, but since then, they have managed to sell over 460,000 electric vehicle chargers over a span of 88 global markets.

Considering the future potential of an even faster charging station in the future only means that more people will be hopping on the electric car revolution sooner than you can say EV.
