In a perfect world, there would be no homeless animals or people and therefore no reason for those with better fortune to somehow provide food for either group. But we don’t live in a perfect world, and with differing approaches to solving this problem, some countries have more people or animals living on the streets than others. Countries that have an abundance of stray dogs include many Asian and Middle Eastern nations, especially the ones that don’t believe in keeping dogs as pets.
One nation that has countless dogs living on the streets is Thailand, where they also face large issues with wildlife. While some citizens simply ignore the animals and treat them as a nuisance, much like Western cultures treat rats, others cannot turn the other cheek and have decided to care for the dogs. One such woman is Orawan Kaewla-iat, a woman who feeds stray dogs in her neighborhood everyday.
She loves the dogs that she watches over, but one of her favorites, as well as a favorite on the Internet where he has gained popularity, is Tua Plu. This particular dog is so grateful to be fed by Orawan that he decided to practice good manners and do the most adorable thing for her: bring her gifts every time he comes over to eat. Orawan said on Facebook:
“When he’s hungry, he will offer something to get fed. Every day he shows up with an object in his mouth — usually a leaf and sometimes a piece of paper. Before you feed other dogs, you have to feed Tua Plu and his mom.”
