Growing up on a horse farm, Jaimie was used to spending time outdoors, taking care of animals and basically living a very rural life. Given that, at the time, he was also the only daughter in the family, Jaimie was expected to always dress and act like a girl. But the problem was, his outside appearance didn’t match his insides. He knew from just 5 years old that he was, indeed, a boy.

Jaimie would go on to share later on, “I knew from an early age that I felt ‘different.’ But, growing up in a religious household, I was sheltered… [I] didn’t really know anything about being transgender. I just remember being as young as five and thinking I was going to grow up to be a guy.”
