True feminism is about equality. Unfortunately, many in today’s world have forgotten this fact. Instead, when individuals such as Emma Watson – a self-proclaimed feminist – wear makeup, fingers are pointed and insults are hurled. In extreme situations, some claim females are superior to males.

Disillusioned by how distorted the concept of feminism has become, Romanian graphic designer and illustrator Teo Mechea decided to create a guide for those who are confused about the topic. Reportedly, the author has always been bugged by “how almost all of what the mainstream media can say about feminism is what certain women wear or do with their bodies, and is that feminist or not.”

“This is a little reminder of what it’s all about: equality and acceptance between both genders aka being decent people. The cheap and crappy debates of wearing a bra or not is what makes people reluctant towards calling themselves feminists even though they might agree with what the term promotes,” wrote Mechea on her Facebook.

Following is an excellent illustration conveying what it means to be feminist, and why those who can’t contain their judgment should drop the label from their vocabulary. Learn more about the artist by visiting her website and Facebook page.
