The Cabinet Mountains
Grizzly bears roam through this particular mountain range precisely because they are protected ‘as a threatened species under federal law.’ Most of the time, people like Amber are just there to get samples from the trees and other areas the bears are known to be in to bring back to the lab for DNA testing and analyzing.
Poorman Creek
On May 17, Amber happened to be working by Poorman Creek all alone. The rushing water must have been quite deafening, as she didn’t notice that a huge grizzly was approaching her from behind. And what happened next was going to be straight out of anyone’s worst nightmare.
