Whereas many people feel comfortable fulfilling their vocation in the city where life is always in motion, wildlife photographer Konsta Punkka feels most inspired in the forest. TimeWheel reports that the artist, who is based in Finland, often leaves his home and heads into the wilderness with nothing more than a camera, a calm demeanor, and plenty of peanuts to entice shy wildlife to interact with him.

His ultimate aim is to come face to face with grazing fawn, twittering squirrels, curious foxes, and hungry birds, and relay their breathtaking beauty in photographs. The images below are proof that he is already a master at doing just that.

Said Punkka in an interview:

“The feeding thing in my photographs is more like a thing I want to show to the people, that the animals trust me and they allow me to get really close to them. I don’t feed these guys much, just a few peanuts to get them stay close to me to take the shots.”

The following photographs showcase some of the majesty found in the forest…
