Animals Spotted Roaming The City Streets While The Humans Stay At Home

During the Covid-19 pandemic, quarantines have been implemented in most countries. Through this, governments in some areas allow people to go outdoors while maintaining social distancing. However, some, if not most, of the population prefer to stay indoors, binge on their favorite shows, or busy themselves with some indoor activities like surfing the internet or just simply reading books. Because of the lack of the usual human activity and presence outdoors, there’s been quite a surprise in some areas like Thailand, Japan, and Italy — some animals have been found to be roaming the streets!

This is quite an unusual happening and probably could not have happened if the streets were packed with people. Not this time though, as people follow the quarantine protocol to help fight and control the coronavirus problem, the city has started to look like a ghost town. It appears that animals are roaming around in search of food and maybe out of curiosity, too. One of them is the Sika deer in Nara Park, Japan which is a popular tourist attraction. Usually, crackers are sold at the park and made available to tourists who would like to feed the deer. However, since people do not frequent the park these days, it seems like the animals are wandering off to find another way to get their food. A Twitter user posted a couple of photos and videos of these amazing animals wandering off the streets of Nara and this little event surprised and amazed the locals. The user himself could not believe his eyes.

And if in Japan, there were herds of deer, in Italy, there were some variations of animals found roaming the streets! These animals ranged from wild boars with babies, to a horse, to flocks of sheep. This amazed and served as entertainment for residents which somehow took their minds off the pandemic the world is experiencing, even for just a short while.

These animals that are enjoying their temporary freedom to take over the city seemed to be oblivious of the chaos the world is in. To them, it is just one of those rare moments of peace in the usually confusing place. The Covid-19 pandemic has claimed thousands of lives, and with thousands more still battling the disease. The cause of this disease is severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 or better known as SARS-CoV-2 and was first found in 2019 in Wuhan. This started to spread globally since then. The common symptoms are fever, cough and in more serious cases, a person infected with this virus would have difficulty breathing. However, because many of the infected people show no signs of catching the virus, person-to-person contact can lead to more contagion. Countries worldwide have taken extreme precautionary measures to control the spread the cases of infected people.
