When teenagers disappear, their disappearance is often first met with skepticism about whether they are simply a runaway. While this in itself is severe, runaway teenagers often show up back at their homes within a few days or even weeks, having faced the elements of real life and not liked what they’ve seen. But just as often, these teenagers are truly missing and their disappearance becomes a quick cause for concern. Unfortunately, Amber Creek’s disappearance was treated as the former example, as a runaway, and her treatment as such is a contributing factor in her eventual death.
This is the story of the teenage ward of the state, with a tendency to runaway regularly, whose tough life led to a horrific death.
