A total of 363 pizza pies were handed out to displaced Louisiana flood victims thanks to a compassionate 9-year-old.
Most nine-year-old kids dream of a new bike, tablet, or trip to the waterpark with their friends. Fortunately, nine-year-old Carson Boutte is an exception.
After some conversation, they were more than happy to oblige. ABC 13 News relays that they made a few calls to a local Domino’s pizza and put in an order for 100 pizza pies.
Then, Carson and his parents announced the change of plans on Facebook and asked for friends and family members to consider purchasing a pizza pie to donate in honor of Carson. It didn’t take long before orders began pouring into Domino’s.
Once the establishment learned of the reason behind the influx of orders, the American eatery decided to match the nine-year-old activist’s donation with 100 pizza pies of their own.
At the end of the day, 363 pizzas were delivered to displaced victims with the aid of family, friends, and neighbors.
One recipient of the generous act, Lacey Viator, told the press:
“For a 9-year-old to even think to help people…it’s amazing. It’s just so humbling especially in today’s time. Everybody is here. Everybody brings stuff and for him to get 300 and something pizzas delivered…he probably didn’t even have pizza, but he brought it for everybody else.”
Diane Armstrong was contemplating what she’d have for lunch when Carson approached. She said:
“It’s just so humbling especially in today’s time. You don’t see children that young who have such a big giving heart and that says a lot for Carson.”
Carson’s activism is proof that you don’t need much more than enthusiasm and a kind heart to make a difference in the world.
