World’s First Self-Sufficient 3D-Printed Home Is Fully Equipped For Off-Grid Living

This eco-friendly home is the world’s first autonomous gadget house created from 3D printing. Being 100% energy self-sufficient, the home is free from any fuel combustion, plumbing or electricity transmission lines.

Tiny homes and self-sufficient abodes are all the rage nowadays. However, unless one desires to personally invest hours of their times designing and constructing a compact home, they are left with the option of purchasing a costly house which may or may not suit their needs. Fortunately, the Ukranian startup PassivDom has developed the perfect off-grid abode, and it’s fully autonomous as well as 3D-printed.

Inhabitat reports that the modulOne is the world’s first autonomous gadget house created from 3D printing. Each abode is 100% energy self-sufficient, meaning it is free from any fuel combustion, plumbing or electricity transmission lines. Additionally, the versatile modular home can adapt to one’s surrounding needs, allowing them to live off-grid in the chilly mountains or even on the beach.

The house is built from 3D printed carbon fiber, fiberglass, polyurethane, and resins. Not only will the items not rot, they are completely recyclable.

The modulOne Autonomous home comes fully equipped with a built-in kitchen, bathroom, heating and cooling systems, and even a smart air ventilation system that controls oxygen levels. Each top-of-the-line appliance can be controlled by a smartphone. There are even a cloud-based video surveillance and alarm system to ensure 24/7 security.

A new homeowner doesn’t have to worry about expensive electricity bills, as solar panels, batteries, and inverters collect enough energy to power the entire structure. The Autonomous model also has an independent water purification and generation system.

Because the house has been constructed with state-of-the-art materials, it can be purchased with a warranty of up to 40 years. This is a positive feature, as the structure is mobile due to having no foundation, therefore, can travel with its owner(s).

PassivDom writes on its website:

“PassivDom allows living in the mountains, in the forest, on the seashore in conditions as comfortable as a 5-star hotel.”

A prospective buyer can choose from the Autonomous, Standard, and Module plus configurations. Each is 387.5 square feet (36 meters) and has different levels of operations, gadget control, and price points to suit the buyer’s needs.
