Who doesn’t love Jim Carrey? The comedian-turned-philosopher has been using his platform of fame for a few years now to enlighten the world on concerns that matter, such as peace, the Illuminati, and even controversial topics like vaccinations.
Now, a video of Carrey revealing his struggle with depression and bi-polar disorder has surfaced, and it’s definitely worth watching.
In the clip (below), Jim talks about how he weaned himself off of Prozac when he realized that “you know, […] everything’s okay.”
He talked gently about those who remain on the pharmaceutical aid and similar drugs for the remainder of their life.
“It feels like a low level of despair you live in, where you’re not getting any answers, but you’re living okay and you can smile at the office…but it’s a low level of despair.”
The most heartening part of what he said, however, might just be his views on religion.
When asked if he is Buddhist, Jim Carrey gave this excellent response:
”I’m a Buddhist, I’m a Christian, I’m a Muslim, I’m whatever you want me to be. It all comes down to the same thing. You’re in a loving place or you’re in an unloving place, if you’re with me right now you cannot be unhappy, it’s not possible.”
As comments on the YouTube clip suggest, “If more people believe as he does, there would be less religious wars.”
