WE ARE LEGION: The Story of the Hacktivists

WE ARE LEGION: The Story of the Hacktivists, takes us inside the complex culture and history of Anonymous. The film explores early hacktivist groups like Cult of the Dead Cow and Electronic Disturbance Theater, and then moves to Anonymous’ own raucous and unruly beginnings on the website 4Chan.

Through interviews with current members – some recently returned from prison, others still awaiting trial – as well as writers, academics and major players in various “raids,” WE ARE LEGION traces the collective’s breathtaking evolution from merry pranksters to a full-blown, global movement, one armed with new weapons of civil disobedience for an online world.

This film was leaked on YouTube and it is a very old version of the film that was sent to a festival in Italy over 6-7 months ago.  Since it is an early rough cut of the film it has inaccuracies, incomplete visuals and lacks a lot of attribution for materials we received from people helping with the film. It is also lacking a huge amount of material and content.  Anon has been busy, and obviously has experienced some interesting revelations, during that time.  The official release has 5-6 more interviews, a deeper analysis of Anonymous and the culture, and a vastly broadened set of visuals and story.

Although this film was leaked, we hope you see the official version which will be in theaters in New York and LA on October 19th, and online October 30th.

And i’d take it that your conservative outlook on things makes you a right-wing extremist scumbag, plus your “UK streets” is a culture flooded by class discrimination and your bourgeois attitude

They just may be the ones to save your sorry ass from what is coming, from what is planned for us. Instead of being part of the problem, how about stepping up to the plate and be part of the solution.

If you only knew the power of the dark side.

I used to think that the mass ignorance was bad in continental Europe. then, because of my debts to swedish bankers and the hammerheads in the government who ruined our “walking dead” economics even more, I moved to UK. oh, now I know what “mass ignorance” really stands for. eat, sleep, work (or not, just get fat living on the benefit money), don’t give a damn about anything but football and getting s*it-faced on a friday night. “what’s a cricket? is that an exotic spice?”

Go to parliament, London, on the 5th of December. Watch as everyone remains un-‘turned fucking over’.
Not all of the UK (or the world for that matter) is as illusional as you, fortunately.

This is probably the most engaging film I have seen this year, in the UK the media is full of shit and has little or no coverage of the awesome work, anon, 4chan, lulz and the other groups have done, big respect to Julian Asange too, the mans a legend :)

We all need to look at the cause of all our Nations problems. the majority of MPs are landlords and the house of Lords speaks for itself, who many hours a week do you have to work to finance the landlords investments. you wont know, because you have never worked out how much they get. get your hair cut, car fixed, buy a loaf of bread, We have to rid society of these parasites before we can even think of a better life.

I personally think it’s great that investors buy properties to rent out. The thing that Athair Siochan never seems to understand is the FACT that rental properties are a necessity and many people rely heavily on them. I`ll give you some examples.

      1. People that have sold their house and looking around to buy another.
      2. People that constantly get relocated for work for months at a time
      3. People want to “Try before they Buy” in a new area
      4. People renovating, or rebuilding due to damage

All 4 cases above rely on the existence of rental properties. I myself have been forced to work interstate on many occasions and have had no other choice to rent my home out whilst renting another. It’s the only way I could do it. I didn’t want to sell my home because I knew I wanted to go back one day.

So according to Athair Siochian, this makes me a landlord which makes me the most evil thing on the earths surface. I think this highlights what an idiot Athair Siochain is.

He should go back to selling cheap violins, because he clearly doesn’t understand how the world really works.

      Regards

      Beach-Sun-River.

Thanks for coming back, you are not interested in making a comment on the discussion , you think you annoy me , “you don’t” I am thankful that you are now using the names you stole from me, Just like to remind you those names are now being monitored by” guess who,” you could have a knock on your door. I am well known now around the world under another name, anyone who sends messages to athairsiochain will simply be forwarding to John , Mary, and all those other aliases, that beachbumriver uses, and I still buy violins to donate to children who cant afford to buy one , you get your pleasure from screwing tenants or surfing the private lives of eBay customers, I enjoy watching children play music, knock- knock, who is there, a sad old Sydney sider with a huge chip on his sconce, this morning I have a tenant to help, a tenant who is been abused by a greedy parasite LANDLORD yes I will win I always do,,

You fail to recognise that rental properties are an essential part of life, and with that so are landlords. You threaten to send people to my house? What for? Speaking my mind? Disagreeing with you? You don’t like it when people voice opinions that are different to yours don’t you!

Grow up, and take a look at how the world really works.

For the record, I don’t live in Sydney or NSW for that matter.

I have been a tenant and landlord. I rent my home out in QL while temperarily work in WA.

I have no choice but to do this, which proves your entire theory a complete lie.

I’m going to admit something to you Athair. You annoy the hell out of me.

You classify all landlords under the same category. To a certain degree I agree with you that many landlords are scum. Especially the ones that rent business premises out to shop keepers. When they see the business improve through the tenants hard work, they’ll increase the rent and take most of the tenants hard earned profits. This is disgraceful and as you put it “legalised theft”. So on many levels I couldn’t agree with you more.

The part that does frustrate me is that you classify “ALL” landlords as scum and should be hung. As I`ve said above, I am forced to work interstate and have no choice to rent properties close to my work. I don’t want to live away from South East Queensland. There’s plenty of work around the Brisbane area that would really suit me, but unfortunately my supervisors take on bigger jobs, mostly in WA, so I have no other option then to rent out my own home, and go rent another house in WA for up to 6 months each time.

To be honest, I hate it. I am so over living so far away from home all the time.

To read your comments suggesting that “ALL” landlords should be hung is very very offensive.

Can you at least acknowledge that I am in a helpless circumstance? I cannot get other work, and believe me I`ve tried. I’m caught in this loop hole and cannot get out. To hear you say I’m evil for being in this situation is extremely frustrating.

This is the first time I’ve revealed anything about myself to you, and I ask you to respect this act, and see things from my perspective. Please stop threatening me with sending people to my home for disagreeing with you. I would appreciate it if you could se things from my situation. I am a forced landlord and a forced tenant in one. I don’t want to be in this situation and don’t like being in this situation.

I am calling a truce with you.

      I await your reply.

      John
