UK Auction Allows Artists To Donate 100% Of Proceeds To Aid Refugees

‘Do little things in great ways’: that’s the secret to positively benefiting this world and not becoming overwhelmed with the large volume of concerns needing to be remedied.

And artists in the UK are doing just that. During a five-week period in August and September of this year, the “Creative Collective for Refugee Relief,” took in donations of art through their Facebook community and used 100% of the proceeds to pay for food, shelter, medical supplies and a truck convoy from the UK to deliver the goods to camps in Eastern Europe.

The Good News Network reports that the online store sold most of the 750 donated pieces of art and raised more than $31,000 for two relief organizations – Syria Relief UK and Calais Refugee Support.

While the Collective’s founders planned to only run the fundraiser through September 30th, they are now asking for more donated works from online artists for a future fundraiser. Artists will have the opportunity to share their inspiration on canvas and let the funds derived from the sales benefit those who really need the support at this time.

For the next auction, the Collective is teaming up with “The Common Good Presents” for an online charity auction supporting Syria Relief UK. Their aim is to supply another 50 pieces for that event which will take place on October 23rd.
