16 Tips for Living with Depression

16. Create a Wellness Toolbox

This is about making time for YOU! This is a set of tools that you can use to help soothe yourself when you are feeling down.

The tools you find most helpful might not work for someone else so it’s important to carefully consider what things can help you feel your best.

Make a list of things you like to do when you’re happy. Then, when you’re feeling down, try one of those activities. This may include cuddling your pet, listening to your favorite music, watching Netflix, taking a warm bath, making cookies, cooking, or reading a good book.

When you’re feeling bad, choose an activity to try when you’re having a particularly rough time. Then at times even if you don’t feel like it, try to make these things happen. The change of scenery will do you good.
