According to multiple reports this week, Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, the infamous drug cartel boss from Mexico recently wrote an email directly to to Daesh (ISIS) leader Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi saying that the radical group “made a mistake” by destroying a shipment that was made by his cartel.

According to cartelblog.com El Chapo wrote in an encrypted email that, “You [IS] are not soldiers. My men will destroy you… Your god cannot save you from the true terror that my men will levy at you if you continue to impact my operation.”

The letter also alleged that the cartel would be expanding into the middle east with their operations.

However, a day after the story went viral a writer and satirist admitted to the Daily Mail that he was the source for the story, and that the story was actually a hoax.

The writer, Steve Charnock, who works for Thug Life Videos, said that ‘It was satire, faux news. It got a few shares on Facebook initially, but now it is the top story on some websites.’

The story quickly became viral and was confirmed by dozens of mainstream media sources.

The hoax was just close enough to reality to be believed especially considering that just last month Mafia boss Giovanni Gambino claimed that his organization would be protecting New York City from Daesh.

El Chapo runs the Sinaloa Cartel, one of the most brutal and wealthy drug cartels in the world.

El Chapo has actually been captured by Mexican police on two different occasions and was able to escape each time with little problem.
