This Transgender Man Is Shutting Down Stereotypes With Remarkable ‘Before & After’ Photos

The activist is shutting down transgender stereotypes while inspiring hundreds of thousands of people to love and accept themselves.

Most people fear what they don’t know, which is why the topic of being transgender is such a hot button issue at the moment. Out of fear, politicians are passing legislation which makes it illegal for those who have “switched” their gender to enter the restroom they identify with. Additionally, hate crimes against LGBT+ individuals continue to take place. While we live in a very progressive time, it is also a very confusing and troubling period. Fortunately, some activists are brave enough to speak out about their own transformations in the hope that education will inspire the masses to adopt more compassionate attitudes.

One such individual is Jaimie Wilson, who — believe it or not — transitioned from a gorgeous woman into an all-American heartthrob. Though Jaimie looks like he has it all, he actually lost most of his friends and family members by following his heart. However, he’s inspiring millions and it’s his “before and after” photos that people can’t look away from.

In 2015, Jaimie decided to become one of the 1.4 million transgender adults living in the United States. “At first I was scared to come out as transgender because I didn’t give any ‘signs,’ as people say,” he wrote on Instagram. However, Jaimie knew he needed to be true to himself, so he began testosterone treatment, underwent surgery, and worked hard at the gym. Two years later, he is the sculpted man he’s always dreamt of being.

As Bored Panda reports, the journey hasn’t been an easy one for Jaimie. His family and friends — most of who are no longer a part of his life — once chastised him for being “too feminine” to be a man. And now that he is happy with his appearance, people in the transgender community judge him for being “too masculine.” He told Cosmopolitan in a March 2017 interview, “People say that I’m trying too hard to be like a cisgendered male.”

Despite all the hate, he continues to preach love and acceptance. “You are NOT who people think you are, you are who you know you are,” Jaimie wrote on Instagram, where has have over 300k followers.

This is one activist you’ll likely see more of, too. As an aspiring country musician, Jaimie is scheduled to perform at the Sziget Festival in Budapest this August. There, he will appear alongside The Chainsmokers, P!nk, and Wiz Khalifa. Following are photos from his incredible transformation:
