This Restaurant Is Offering Free Meals To Anyone Eating Alone On Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a time when people in the United States gather to share gratitude for life, each other, and their freedom in America. Spending any holiday alone can be tough, however, which is why one Michigan restaurant has extended an offer to anyone dining alone to enjoy a free feast and fellowship with others this Thanksgiving.

The offer made by George Dimopoulos, the owner of George’s Senate Coney Island, quickly went viral when a passerby saw the following sign in the restaurant’s window and uploaded it to Imgur:

People have been moved by the generosity of Dimopoulos, who has been offering free Thanksgiving meals to people who have no nearby friends or family for 10 years.

“Having had my last 3 thanksgivings alone, this actually almost made me cry,” Nick Duggar wrote in the comments.

“Good Guy George,” Keleesi posted.

His integrity and character really shine through with this offer. While most entrepreneurs would be concerned about their financial losses, Dimopoulos is inspired to make sure everyone has an enjoyable holiday.

He knows how tough it can be to spend the holidays alone, which is why he started the seasonal tradition.

“The reason I do this is because I was alone one time,” he told ABC News. “I remember the good times and bad times.”

A Greek immigrant, George left home at age 12 and remembers begging for food from strangers while living on the streets in Athens. Now, he is paying forward the assistance he received by helping strangers on the American holiday.
