Bioo Lite is a plant pot created to harness the greenest and most efficient energy ever and can charge your devices using the organic substances generated from photosynthesis.

Consumers can use any kind of plant and any type of soil for the Bioo Lite, making the pot-turned-charging-device a versatile accessory built for any home.

The science may be complex, but the result is simple.

The plant’s leaves act as solar panels to generate the electricity and the microorganisms placed in the pot by the creators are nourished by the organic substances created by the photosynthesis. Those microorganisms then break up the waste and some of the electrons are set free and travel through the nano wires in the most efficient way to power your devices.

Set-up only requires the user to first remove the USB cable from inside the pot, pour in water to start the activation process, pot a plant of their choice and use soil to fill in the gaps.

Since the plants may vary, the user can place it wherever the plant is likely to thrive, but plants that require a solid amount of sun will probably generate more energy for increased charging power.

According to Bioo’s research, each plant pot will allow for 2 or 3 full charges per day and the pot generates and collects electricity around the clock.

Although the plant only supplies a USB connector, the user can supply any USB wire to power any device, also making the pot a versatile charger.

The project has already surpassed their crowdfunding goal to get the new technology off the ground, and plan to distribute the first Bioo Lite’s in December to those who pre-order by donating a certain amount to their Indiegogo project.

Bioo, a team developed by Arkyne Technologies, is focused on creating new sources of renewable energy, telecommunication hardware and software development. Though their first goal is to sell the Bioo Lite and attract people to renewable energy sources, their larger goal is to continue to develop cleaner energy and essentially:

“Be a part of a revolution to cover the whole world with trees. So if plants nourished ourselves in the past, they will nourish our cities in the future.”
