This Is Why People’s Opinions Of You Don’t Matter…

You are what you love, not what loves you.

How often have you renegotiated your life’s journey based upon other people’s opinions?

In the thought-provoking video above, created by Kyle Cease from Evolving Out Loud, the simple reasons behind why so many people are unhappy in their day-to-day life are shared.

As young kids, we were inspired to live joyously and in the moment. Why? Because we were present and infatuated with our seemingly limitless ability to learn and create. No matter how many times we fell, we got back up. And that, is fact. For if you had given up like you might feel you should today, you wouldn’t be able to walk.

As we grew up, however, pressures and demands inflicted by society began to shape the way we saw ourselves – and others. No longer was life about doing what we loved, it was about conforming to what others deemed to be ‘right’, rather than ‘wrong’.

The idolized ‘right’ way to live one’s life includes: going to college, getting a job, working a minimum of 40 hours a week, buying a big house, marrying a secure, heterosexual partner, saving for retirement, and living to old age so someday, you and that ‘special someone’ can drink lemonade on the porch.

But this is a fantasy. With the advent of modern technologies and the internet, the ability to live one’s life in limitless fashion is now an opportunity… And with open access to create and expand, there is NO one way to live a life that will suit everyone.

The video above conveys this and much more. What are your thoughts?
