In terms of securing a job interview, being well-groomed is important. In fact, evidence suggests that those who maintain an appealing personal appearance tend to make more money, as well as are hired more often. It’s because of this (somewhat uncomfortable) truth that a barber in Sao Paulo, Brazil, offers free hair cuts and shaves to men who are on their way to a scheduled job interview.

Whoever desires to impress their potential employer can benefit from “The Great Barber Shop”. According to GoodNewsNetwork, all a customer needs to do to receive a free trip is to send an email with evidence of a future job interview. Then, the attendant will help them schedule the service.

Co-owner of the shop, Henrique Campos, was inspired to offer the service in June while out at a bar with his friends. He relays,

“A friend of mine said he had a job interview that week and needed a hair cut to give a better first impression – so I offered one. After that, I figured I could expand the initiative.”

“Many can’t afford to cut their hair when a job opportunity presents itself. I’m helping people and promoting my business at the same time. A truly win-win situation.” Mr. Campos added.

In addition to helping those in need, his initiative is inspiring countless others around the globe. The world might seem like a dark, dismal place, but there are plenty of compassionate people doing good to help make it better. You can be one of them, too.
