Around 500 million animals have been estimated to have died from the bushfires in Australia and Corryong in Victoria is not exempt from battling these devastating wildfires. Aside from the country’s wild animals that are so vulnerable right now, plant life and numerous farm animals are also suffering.

Just a while back, a flock of sheep in Corryong nearly perished when a wall of fire crept towards them in the farmland. Thanks to Patsy, a six-year-old Border Collie and her unnamed owner, the sheep survived!

Patsy fearlessly did what she does best which was round up the flock and herded them to the safest paddock of the farm. When the brave dog got all of the sheep to safety, Patsy stayed by her owner’s side until the fire came closer to their area where the owner was able to get his tractor with a tank of water close enough to attempt to put out the fire.

The sister of Patsy’s owner, Cath Hill was able to take a shot of Patsy while she was in action and the raging wall of fire was in the background to show the seriousness of the situation.

Thanks to Patsy and her owner that the majority of the sheep were able to survive unharmed. Now, the community is praising and cheering on patsy for being a hero and risking her life to save others.

Everyone is just amazed with this heroic dog, especially Hill who published a video on Facebook where she praises the pup for rescuing all the sheep in the background. Hill also shared a couple of bushfire relief fundraisers that Patsy would love for the people to support and donate to.
