28. Prophet T.B. Joshua Earnings Go Up To $15 Million

Nigerian self-proclaimed prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua is the leader and founder of The Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN), a Christian organization that runs Africa’s largest Christian television network, Emmanuel TV. Joshua’s has declared that unusual circumstances surrounded his birth and that in a heavenly vision he had received divine blessings and an instruction from god to start his ministry, believers also alleged that Joshua’s birth was ‘prophesied’ 100 years prior. The SCOAN has been widely criticized for the demonization of homosexuality and Joshua claims to be able to effect a cure for homosexuals, HIV/AIDS, and Ebola through prayer, the church is also known for the deliverance of those supposedly possessed by evil spirits during its services. Joshua has traveled all over the world and his ‘Miracle Crusade’ in Cali, Colombia, in 2014, was attended by 100,000 people. Joshua predicted Hillary Clinton would win the 2016 US election and after this prophecy failed to materialize Joshua removed evidence from his website and soon after reaffirmed his prediction, stating that any misinterpretation was due to lack of “spiritual understanding”.

Joyce Meyer Ministries was investigated by Senator Chuck Grassley seeking to determine if Meyer had made personal profit from financial donations, asking for a detailed accounting for cosmetic surgery, foreign bank accounts, corporate jet, cars, houses, and numerous paintings purchased for $1,000 to $4,000 each, among many other expensive items all paid for by the ministry.
