22. T. D. Jakes Earnings Go Up To  $147 Million

In 1996 African-American pastor, author and filmmaker T.D. Jakes founded the Potter’s House, a non-denominational megachurch located on a 34-acre hilltop campus in Dallas, Texas, featuring a 5,000-seat auditorium and hosting about 14,000 congregants.

T.D. Jakes Ministries was established as a non-profit organization producing televised sermons and conferences broadcast on The Potter’s Touch, which airs on Lightsource.com, the Trinity Broadcasting Network, Black Entertainment Television, the Daystar Television Network, The Word Network, VHS home video, and The Miracle Channel in Canada. In 2005, Jakes was described by then-President George W. Bush as “a kind of man who puts faith into action” after the Bishop accompanied him to visit the areas devastated by Hurricane Katrina and according to NBC News in January 20, 2009, Jakes led the early morning prayer service for President Barack Obama at St. John’s Church in Washington, D.C.. Jakes was converted and ordained within Oneness Pentecostalism but he has revealed that he affirms the Trinity but not the eternality of the individual persons of the Trinity which is denied by Oneness churches.

Eckhart Tolle was listed by Watkins Review as the most spiritually influential person in the world. A german-born resident of Canada went from being homeless to self-made multimillionaire he has authored two New York Times bestsellers, A New Earth and The Power of Now. At age 29 Tolle experienced an “inner transformation” after spending most of his life depressed and decided to leave his career and belongings behind until becoming a writer and spiritual teacher. Tolle is also a speaker and leads retreats, seminars, and workshops in English and occasionally in German or Spanish. He created a company called Eckhart Teachings and in 2009, he launched the web-based video channel, Eckhart Tolle TV. According to Telegraph Magazine Tolle has indicated that he had no intention of setting up an ashram or center and that he believes “one needs to be careful that the organization doesn’t become self-serving”. Tolle declared on his website that “at the core of Tolle’s teachings lies the transformation of consciousness, a spiritual awakening that he sees as the next step in human evolution…not only for personal happiness but also for the ending of violent conflict endemic on our planet”.
