Jose’s Story
Jose Menendez, the patriarch of the family, was a Cuban refugee from an affluent family. He moved to the US when he was just 16 years old in the 1960s after the upheaval of the country’s resolution. Then, he went on to live with his parents in Pennsylvania. He went to college at Southern Illinois University where me met his future wife, Mary Louise “Kitty” Andersen.
