The last subtype under Dr. Millon’s dissection of BPD is what he calls Self-Destructive Borderline Personality Disorder. This type is characterized by their unending sense of bitterness and gloom which they keep to themselves. They tend to engage in self-destructive behaviors such as drug use, drinking, and gambling, as well as engaging in promiscuous and humiliating sex. They do these things either as a conscious effort to numb their intense feelings of self-hatred or as unintentional results of being under the influence of the self-destructive substances they take.
