This 17-year-old learned to love her thick, dark eyebrows and, in result, landed an impressive modeling contract.
From a young age, 17-year-old Natalia Castellar was mocked for her bold, dark eyebrows. Reportedly, kids would tease her for how thick and long they were. While the teen appears proud and confident today, she isn’t always so fond of the look she was born with.
“When I was younger they were all anyone would point out. I was bullied terribly because of how thick and long they were, so I wanted to shave them down.”
Fortunately, Castellar remained true to herself and learned to love her eyebrows. Doing so actually resulted in her landing a massive modeling contract with NEXT Models! So far, the teen has posed for NARS and Mansur Gavriel.
“Now I don’t care if they stay trendy or not, I love my eyebrows,” says the inspiring role model. “They’re my trademark, and I wish I would have embraced them sooner.”
Though some internet trolls still pester her for her unconventional – albeit beautiful – look, Castellar no longer gives them any mind. She relays,
“A lot of trolls [still] leave nasty comments about my eyebrows, but I don’t give in and respond, because that’s what they want.”
Looking toward the future, she states:
“I can’t wait to travel and work. I’m the type of person that’s content when they’re constantly doing something.”
The lesson here is to love yourself exactly as you were made. Who knows – the part of your body others tease you about might just be what makes you incredibly unique and beautiful. Following are some photos of the 17-year-old model. Check out her Instagram to see more.
