How do you turn regular, boring streets into curious art installations? Add some pixelation, of course! This is what Swedish artist Johan Karlgren, also known as Pappas Pärlor, is doing in his local area.

According to Bored Panda, Karlgren’s works of art are inspired by his passion: old video games. This is why all of his characters that are pixelated.

People have noticed Pappas Pärlor’s street art in a variety of locations: traffic signs, pipes, fences, sculptures and in other locations. The artist seamlessly incorporates the pixelated art into the function of objects which gives them new meaning — and a more appealing aesthetic.
