Skittle Releases All White Bag For Pride Month Because “Only One Rainbow Matters”

Though the intention may have been good, the PR tactic has sparked controversy.

The next time you reach for a bag of Skittles, don’t be surprised when only black and white candies spill out. That’s because, for the second year in the row, the company has released a limited edition of white Skittles in an effort to promote gay pride. The back of the new bag reads, “During Pride, only one rainbow matters. So we’ve given up ours to show support.” Reportedly, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to LGBTQ charities.

Fortunately, the candies don’t taste as plain as they look. In fact, they are still bursting with fruity flavor — which is good or bad depending on whom you ask.

While many people are celebrating the initiative, others are condemning the company for supposedly promoting racism because the Skittles are now white.

Others are saying the packaging is confusing and offensive to colorblind people.

Once again, it’s been proven that it is impossible to please everyone.

Overall, the response has been positive, however.
