Actor Sir Patrick Stewart, who is best-known for portraying Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek and Professor X in the X-Men series, was recently surprised with a foster pup in real life, and to say that the meeting was heart-melting is an understatement.
Stewart and his partner opted to foster a pit bull named Ginger, and she is as sweet as her name implies. He wrote on Twitter:
When celebrities adopt or even foster pit bull pups, they make a powerful statement against the prevailing prejudice associated with the breed. Though to be overly aggressive and unsuitable pets, pit bulls can be great dogs if raised in the right environment. After all, it was a loving pit bull that easily won over Sir Patrick Stewart. Follow in the renowned actor’s shoes and adopt – don’t shop!
