9. Scalp Hair Loss (Hyperthyroidism)
Hair loss can result from both hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism but is more pronounced and more severe in the former compared to the latter. Also, hyperthyroidism tends to affect only the hairs on the scalp, making it more noticeable and bothersome for patients. Fortunately, regaining back the lost hair is possible once the underlying cause has been addressed and treated.
