7. Enlargement of the Thyroid (Hyperthyroidism, Hypothyroidism, and Thyroid Masses)
One of the most obvious signs of thyroid disease is the enlargement of the thyroid itself, causing a condition known as Goiter. Goiter can be present in any of the abnormal thyroid conditions that either causes the over production of hormones (Grave’s Disease), or the under production of hormones (Hashimoto’s Disease). Thyroid masses, regardless of whether they are cancerous or not, can also cause the enlargement of the gland, which is why immediate consult to a doctor is advised once observed.
