22. Low Sex Drive (Hypothyroidism)

Hypothyroidism has been found to decrease libido in patients, especially in women. This is because the low production of thyroid hormone slows down other bodily functions and processes, including those of the reproductive organs and adrenal glands. Because of the decreased production of sex hormones, temporary disinterest in engaging in sexual activity may be experienced, a condition that can be reversed once thyroid treatment has been started.
