17. Poor Appetite (Hypothyroidism)
The decrease in metabolism caused by hypothyroidism can also affect a patient’s appetite. The low thyroid levels cause the body to shift into an energy-saving state, slowing down its activity. When this happens, the body decides that it doesn’t need to take-in more food to fuel it since it already has enough energy stored, thus, the loss of appetite.
