Shia LaBeouf, like Mark Ruffalo and Shailene Woodley, is a well-known actor who’s gained attention for more than just the films he’s starred in. In the past, the former child star set up an interactive exhibit in which he watched a marathon of his own films and record his reactions. In one instance, he even invited people to share a room in silence with him to make a statement (and was reportedly sexually assaulted during the event).
Now, LaBeouf, in collaboration with actor Jaden Smith, has installed a four-year-long interactive anti-Trump live stream which exists just outside of the New York Museum of the Moving Image. Entitled “HE WILL NOT DIVIDE US”, the premise of the project is to declare that bigotry, sexism, and xenophobia will only inspire more people to act on peace, and will fail at dividing the populace.
In the videos below, Jaden joins Shia’s project and declares: “He will not divide us.”

In the days since the project was installed, a few white supremacists have attempted to take over the live stream. LaBeouf, however, wasn’t having any of that. According to PaperMag, a racist individual started saying “14” into the camera, which is a rallying cry for those who believe Caucasians are superior to other ethnicities. When LaBeouf began following him, the man temporarily stopped his hate speech. When he circled back in an attempt to deliver the entire David Lane slogan (“We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children”), an angry LaBeouf began screaming “HE WILL NOT DIVIDE US” directly into the man’s ear. Eventually, the white supremacist was chased off.
