Seven Myths About Homeschooling, Debunked

A home-schooled kid makes a passionate video bashing some typical stereotypes

When you think of home-schooled children, what springs to mind? Many people assume kids who are taught at home by their parents are lacking in social skills and tend to be shy, sheltered and lacking friendships. Many people believe home-schooled kids are always religious and rarely leave the house (or even take off their pajamas) unless they’re going to church. One home-schooled boy breaks down these stereotypes and discusses the benefits of home education (not knowing who Lady Gaga is, for example) in a humorous way.

Were you home-schooled, or are you a parent that chose to educate from home? Do you agree with these points, and would you add anything else to the list of misconceptions? Let us know what you think in the comments!
