On the day of the hijacking, a memo was released regarding the events of Northwest Flight 305 from Portland to Seattle. It had been classified by the FBI as a “164-New,” which stands for ‘Crime Aboard Aircraft.’ This was the first file collected by the investigators on the crime that was going to become one of the most historic hijacking cases ever.
