Last week we reported on the story of a refugee who was attacked by a camerawoman that worked for a nationalist news outlet.

Petra László of N1TV was filming a group of refugees running away from police officers when she stuck out her leg to trip a man who carrying a child in his arms. Stephan Richter, a reporter for the German television channel RTL was on the scene and was able to film the incident.

This week, we have learned the identity of that man and have been able to find out what he has been up to since the incident with the camerawoman.

Osama Abdul Mohsen is the man who was tripped in the video, and it was reported this week that he was offered a job as a soccer coach in Spain. Administrators at Spain’s Cenafe national soccer coaching center heard about the story and found out that he was a soccer coach in Syria so they decided to hire him.

“I love you, I love Madrid. Thank you for all. This is very, very important for my life. I am here with you. Thank you very much,” Mohsen said.

“We lost our house in Syria after suffering a number of artillery shells by [President] Assad’s forces,” his oldest son, Almuhannad, told NBC News.

Miguel Angel Galan, the soccer organization’s president said that he was inspired to help after reading about the story, and that he wanted to show “solidarity” because “we are colleagues.”

Many of the anti-immigration commenters who have been against allowing the refugees to move from their war-torn homes, have claimed that Syrian migrants would be a drain on the economy and would eat up the benefits and welfare that Europeans receive. However, this is not true, many of the migrants are skilled and willing workers who don’t want any handouts, they just want to work and own their own property in place that is relatively peaceful and safe to raise children.
