Surrounded by Greens

Surrounding Auroville is what people call the Green Belt. It is the zone for organic farms and wildlife. And because it surrounds the town, it serves as a barricade from the messy urban world that is found outside. To get to the utopian town, people need to trek and expose themselves to the wildlife. However, this belt also serves a greater purpose.

Green Belt

Auroville aims to be completely self-sufficient. The Green Belt that acts as a barrier will also provide the townsfolk with timber, food, and medicine. However, it was also built to be beautiful. Hence, the surrounding forests can also be a place for recreation for those who listen to the call of Mother Nature.
