When one clicks on the evening news or scrolls through the archives of a mainstream media channel, more often than not they are bombarded by negative happenings which have recently occurred. While it is important to be aware of what’s taking place, constantly receiving the narrative that the world is a horrible, ruthless place is unhealthy for one’s state of mind and well-being. It’s because of this that True Activist strives to share positive news in addition to reporting on other note-worthy events.

Recently, a passenger plane destined for South Sudan caught on fire and crashed. Miraculously, all 44 passengers and 5 crew members survived. According to TIME, the South Supreme plane was in a landing pattern on Sunday in Way when the craft wavered and control was lost by the pilot. Fortunately, the door flew open upon impact and all aboard were able to escape.

Because several UN peacekeepers from Bangladesh, China, and Nepal were at the airport during the event, they were able to jump into action and assist with the evacuation. While no deaths were reported, some passengers suffered injuries, therefore, were quickly transported to the hospital.
