Nikki Minaj is turning out to be quite the philanthropist. Just a couple of weeks ago, the artist offered to pay fans’ school fees if they could prove they’ve received top grades. To one lucky individual, she even sent $6,000! Now, it turns out the rapper has been donating a hefty sum of money to an Indian village and, as a result, is benefiting the lives of many.

Over the weekend, Minaj shared a post on Instagram about a developing Indian village she’s proud to have been supporting. As it turns out, she’s been donating money to the evolving infrastructure of an unnamed town overseas for years. As a result of the charity, the village now has a reading program, a computer center, a tailoring institute and two new water wells.

“This is the kind of thing that makes me feel the most proud,” said Minaj. “We complain about the most ridiculous little things when some ppl don’t even have clean water. Blessings to India. Our work is far from done.”

“I’ll tell you guys more about my charity work in the near future in case you’d like to be a part of it,” she added.

According to GoodNewsNetwork, Minaj is especially passionate about helping Indian women. Following the announcement of her activism, the musician posted a photo of a dozen Indian woman attending a religious function.

She wrote,

“I’m so proud of our sisters in India. God is so good. Their desire was to have water wells & places where they can worship, places where they can learn [about] technology, computers, reading, etc. We’re just getting started. These women are us and we are them!”

Even if one doesn’t personally align with an artist’s ideas or messages, they can still be in awe of the fact that the individual is using their celebrity to propel positive change in the world.
