Breasts first and foremost exist to nourish infants and young children. However, because society has sexualized the anatomy of a female body, women can rarely feed their children in public without receiving shrewd glances and, in turn, feeling judged.

To combat the fact that public breastfeeding remains to be a ‘taboo’ act in many modern, first-world nations, activists with the British independent creative agency Mother London recently installed a giant inflatable breast on the city’s skyline.

The large boob appeared on Mother’s Day (March 26 in the UK) and it is part of the #freethefeed campaign that promotes a nonjudgmental approach to feeding, according to Bored Panda. Mother London wrote in a blog post:

“It’s hard to believe that in 2017, UK mothers still feel watched and judged when feeding in public. This was our mother’s day project. A celebration of every woman’s right to decide how and where they feed their children without feeling guilty or embarrassed about their parenting choices.”
