More Proof That Animals Feel Empathy? Meet The Cat-Nurse Who Cares For Sick Pets

When Radamenes the cat went to an animal shelter with a respiratory disease, none of the staff expected him to stay on and help them out after he recovered. But Radamenes simply didn’t want to leave: he had an important job to do. These fantastic photos from Poland of the adorable black kitty tending to sick animals at the shelter lend more weight to the idea that animals do indeed feel empathy.

Staff at the center joke that Radamenes is like another colleague, since he can’t stop nursing those in need. The cat sits close by all the animals who need some TLC; massaging, cleaning and even cuddling them as they recover from their illnesses.
