Millions Swore To Have These “Memories” That NEVER Existed

36. Say that again, Don Corleone?

In the movie The Godfather, Johnny Fontane asks help from his godfather, Don Vito Corleone, an iconic character famously played by Marlon Brando. Fontane wants a film role and goes up to Don Vito to see if there’s anything the Don could do. Guess what he says. It’s actually “I’m gonna make him an offer he can’t refuse,” and not what most people insist as, “I wanna make him an offer he can’t refuse.” The misheard version actually doesn’t make sense, because Don Corleone’s actual line was made as a commitment to his godson, Frank Sinatra-wannabe, Johnny Fontane. Don’t worry, Johnny. Don Vito’s got you.

37. YOU’re in big trouble with that boat

One of the most frequently mistaken lines in movie history were the words uttered by Martin Brody, played by Roy Scheider in the 1975 Spielberg hit Jaws. Brody knew they were faced with a monstrous problem: the boat they picked to hunt down the gigantic shark was too small. He looks at the captain and says, “You’re going to need a bigger boat,” not “We’re going to need a bigger boat.” Which actually makes sense because in the scene, Brody is already manning a big boat, and they are just looking for another one.
