Pythons are stealth predators. They are known to wait patiently until they see their prey in sight, then they strike quickly before wrapping their powerful bodies around their kill to suffocate them. Then, they open their jaws, which are retractable, in order to swallow them whole. And depending on the size of the prey, it can take anywhere between a few months, to much more time, to fully digest their food.

Aside from the mammoth-sized python, reportedly, there was “scattered palm oil fruit, a picking tool and a boot,” lying near the cold-blooded reptile. The villagers felt like they already knew that the python had probably eaten Akbar because of the odd shape that the body of the python was showing. Police said, “They didn’t find him, but the villagers saw an unmoving python in the ditch. They grew suspicious that maybe the snake had Akbar.”
