There probably isn’t anything as silly as the idea of a Macbook selfie stick, but the invention is exactly what a trio of artists are carrying around New York City in an attempt to make a statement.

Mashable reports that Moises (Art404), John Yuyi, and Tom Galle are the creative geniuses behind the project. Inspired to poke fun at society’s obsession with selfies and vanity, the artists have been waltzing around New York’s Time Square and Washington Square Park with the contraption, taking photos with a Macbook.

Photos of their humorous endeavor can be viewed below. And no, the Macbook Selfie Stick isn’t actually available for sale.

No statement has been provided by the artists, but the project is self-explanatory.
