The Movie is a 2007 documentary film by Peter Joseph. It asserts a number of conspiracy theory-based ideas, including the Christ myth theory, alternative theories for the parties responsible for the September 11th attacks and that bankers manipulate the international monetary system and the media in order to consolidate power.

Zeitgeist: Moving Forward, by director Peter Joseph, is a feature length documentary work which presents a case for a needed transition out of the current socioeconomic monetary paradigm which governs the entire world society. This subject matter transcends the issues of cultural relativism and traditional ideology and move to relate the core, empirical “life ground” attributes of human and social survival, extrapolating those immutable natural laws into a new sustainable social paradigm called a “Resource-Based Economy”.

The current method of raw food production is largely a response to the growth of the fast food industry since the 1950s. The production of food overall has more drastically changed since that time than the several thousand years prior. Controlled primarily by a handful of multinational corporations, the global food production business – with an emphasis on the business – has as its unwritten goals production of large quantities of food at low direct inputs (most often subsidized) resulting in enormous profits, which in turn results in greater control of the global supply of food sources within these few companies. Health and safety (of the food itself, of the animals produced themselves, of the workers on the assembly lines, and of the consumers actually eating the food) are often overlooked by the companies, and are often overlooked by government in an effort to provide cheap food regardless of these negative consequences.

Bill Maher interviews some of religion’s oddest adherents. Muslims, Jews and Christians of many kinds pass before his jaundiced eye. Maher goes to a Creationist Museum in Kentucky, which shows that dinosaurs and people lived at the same time 5000 years ago. He talks to truckers at a Truckers’ Chapel. (Sign outside: “Jesus love you.”) He goes to a theme park called Holy Land in Florida. He speaks to a rabbi in league with Holocaust deniers.

Provoking, witty, stylish and sweepingly informative, THE CORPORATION explores the nature and spectacular rise of the dominant institution of our time. Part film and part movement, The Corporation is transforming audiences and dazzling critics with its insightful and compelling analysis. Taking its status as a legal “person” to the logical conclusion, the film puts the corporation on the psychiatrist’s couch to ask “What kind of person is it?”

THRIVE is an unconventional documentary that lifts the veil on what’s REALLY going on in our world by following the money upstream — uncovering the global consolidation of power in nearly every aspect of our lives. Weaving together breakthroughs in science, consciousness and activism, THRIVE offers real solutions, empowering us with unprecedented and bold strategies for reclaiming our lives and our future.

Zeitgeist: Addendum premiered at the 5th Annual Artivist Film Festival in Los Angeles, California on October 2, 2008, winning their highest award. It was released free online on October 4, 2008. Director Peter Joseph stated: “The failure of our world to resolve the issues of war, poverty, and corruption, rests within a gross ignorance about what guides human behavior to begin with. It addresses the true source of the instability in our society, while offering the only fundamental, long-term solution.

EARTHLINGS is a feature length documentary about humanity’s absolute dependence on animals (for pets, food, clothing, entertainment, and scientific research) but also illustrates our complete disrespect for these so-called “non-human providers.” Academy Award nominee Joaquin Phoenix (GLADIATOR) and features music by the critically acclaimed platinum artist Moby narrate the film.

Evolution is a term to define only one organism and that’s the self. The self is the universe, the self is the alpha and omega, god, and infinity, and that’s the only thing that evolves because we are all part of the self. Nothing goes through an evolutionary process alone or without direct benefit to the whole. So when you begin to think that there’s this controlling elite, this controlling hand behind the curtains leading the planet to destruction.

‘Inside Job’ provides a comprehensive analysis of the global financial crisis of 2008, which at a cost over $20 trillion, caused millions of people to lose their jobs and homes in the worst recession since the Great Depression, and nearly resulted in a global financial collapse. Through exhaustive research and extensive interviews with key financial insiders, politicians, journalists, and academics, the film traces the rise of a rogue industry, which has corrupted politics, regulation, and academia. It was made on location in the United States, Iceland, England, France, Singapore, and China.
Inside Job was Pathetic. Fall of The Republic, at least named names…
Perhaps I watched a different film than you did. Inside Job named plenty of names, especially the large banking & finance houses that created the crisis, as well as the individuals in charge of those firms. Watch it again & take notes. It will provide a lot more clarity than anything that whack job Alex Jones puts out there.
You lose any credibility you have as soon as you mention Alex Jones. The guy isn’t a serious documentary maker, he’s an embarrassment to all Americans.
He was clearly stating that he is a whack job?
All they said was that it was “greed.” Perhaps you were distracted by your self correcting faith based ideology, to notice.
The Director of Inside Job was friends with insiders from the Council on Foreign Relations. What does that mean? You guessed it: Controlled Opposition. The banksters hired someone they could trust to be the one pointing the fingers, because they knew he’d leave out all the important stuff, like how the Federal Reserve’s massive money printing and market manipulation is what enabled all of the bubbles in the first place.
Yes there is truth in this film. But it’s what they’re NOT telling you that should make you wonder
How bout Fahrenheit 9/11
yes
Great movie. Wished every American had seen it.
The Finland Phenomenon is a great one too!
Obviously, you need to add these two films:
- The Esoteric Agenda (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJiCU6Jw0Co)
- The Act Of Killing (not available online, but the most shocking and surreal documentary ever, so good that all other documentaries pale away in comparison, here is the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQhIRBxbchU)
yes
Thrive should not be in the list because it should not be considered a documentary. It is full of BS mixed with true facts and is made just to confuse and disperse. ” The symbol is engraved in the atomic structure of the pillar …” give me a brake!!
That was a damn fine job at advertising, Pillars? Symbols? Atomic Structure? all in one sentence? now I have to see this.
what the bleep do we know????????
Definitelly!
Another great movie, which unfortunately was greatly misunderstood by many viewers. The “physics” presented was very accurate and useful to points made.
Sounds like FB wants all of us to turn into atheists. I dont recommend.
Sorry but, who are you to talk about us ??
You’re still asleep just as those who, think like you let stand recommend anyone
not to see these movies. If you prefer to live the rest of your life in ignorance and
slavery that’s you’re prerogative but, don’t speak for others because I most definitely,
do NOT share your comment nor do I share your recommendation.
Just remember that most documentaries, and other media, have a biased message. Don’t get me wrong, many facts are stated, but many opinions are also given. Always think about the author’s agenda when watching or reading ANYTHING! Locate the facts and form your own opinion. Anything that gets the mind thinking, I highly recommend.
most people who think that are “awake”, are just allowing their brains to be washed with new crap, giving them the idea that they are now so spiritual, so full of knowledge and awareness!! freedom is simply a state of mind!! and let me tell you that most “ignorants” are actually the happiest people in the world, because they live their lives to the fullest, and are grateful for what they have and do the best they can with it… i believe, that is the best way to change anything!!! instead of continuous complaining of the world, and feeding fear and collective paranoia to the people!! or “insulting” other people, because you are only growing your egos thinking that your are better than the rest, instead of respecting other people’s opinions…yeah that’s a great contribution to a better change indeed!!
i would love to see the governments go down and observe what would happen…the people stealing and killing each other, directly!…we’re obviously not prepared for the system to go down if we can’t respect each other! so who needs to awake here?…
Dali, the ignorants are the happiest people in the world? Unfortunately, the ignorants are allowing systems of exploitation to thrive because of their ignorance. Is it ok to buy stolen goods if you are ignorant? No! Ignorantly purchasing goods that involved environmental destruction, human exploitation, or animal torture is wrong! So no, being ignorant is not the best way to live your life. Being conscious, compassionate, and loving is the best way to live your life.
Good list. Could be a little longer though.

Please add – TAPPED. I don’t know if it’s free online but it is on Netflix and it’s a MUST WATCH!
Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room is excellent as well to highlight the depths corporations will go to make a buck.
http://archive.org/details/Enron_TheSmartestGuysInTheRoom
I recommend EVERONE to see these movies including the most recent
documentary based on the groundbreaking research of dr. Steven Greer
and directed by the award winning Amardeep Kaleeka called “SIRIUS”.
Specially for those who still don’t believe.
TAPPED is indeed a must watch documentary, and I also agree with gipoman about “SIRIUS” which was released on April 22, 2013. Both films should be added to this list.
Best film ever: ZEITGEIST ADDENDUM
I recommend watching Sharkwater if you haven’t seen it. Great doc:

hints of koyaanisqatsi. Loved them both. peace
First 3 places should be Zeitgeist Triollogy.
The list is good but people should also watch the following docs for “Our duty is to encourage every one in his struggle to live up to his own highest idea, and strive at the same time to make the ideal as near as possible to the Truth” Swami Vivekananda.
1.”Money as Dept” 2.”Unlawful Killing” 3.”The American Dream” and 4.”Confessions of an Economic Hit Man”. These 4 documentaries will change your life if not forever for a day or two at least..
These movies (I’m not sure about “Religulous”, but all the others) are one-sided, factually problematic and should not be called ‘documentaries’, they are propaganda movies. I’m not saying that there aren’t any problems with the world today, but these movies don’t help. They distort information to their own agenda. It is not a good practice to promote these movies to people who don’t have good critical thinking skills — they don’t know how to further investigate the claims made in these movies. I’m gonna try to help. Here are a few links to articles debunking much of the bunk in these movies.

“Food Inc” http://www.monsanto.com/food-inc/Pages/default.aspx
“The Corporation” http://reclaimdemocracy.org/movie_review_the_corporation/ , Psychiatrist Robert D. Hare objected to the manner in which his work was presented in the film: “To refer to the corporation as psychopathic because of the behaviors of a carefully selected group of companies is like [inaccurately] using the traits and behaviors of the most serious high-risk criminals to conclude that the criminal (that is, all criminals) is a psychopath. If [common diagnostic criteria] were applied to a random set of corporations, some might apply for the diagnosis of psychopathy, but most would not.”

“Earthlings” http://woochanjh.blogspot.com/2012/11/earthlings-review-first-draft-dilemma.html
“Kymatica” seems to be so full of BS that nobody has even bothered to debunk it — it would take a book to do that. Maybe this will be the first http://conspiracies.skepticproject.com/articles/benjamin-stewart/
“Inside Job” http://www.businessinsider.com/is-inside-job-accurate-2011-2?op=1
Religious people love to object to the entire trilogy because of the bit on religion ..smh

“It is to these sources, then, that any serious student (and would-be “debunker”) of ZG1.1 would need to turn.”
And the fact that this guy ^ posted a link to Monsanto’s website as a debunk to “Food Inc” really destroys any credibility he has and also his intellect . ..And makes going down the rest of his list pointless. .. Either he is a troll or he is one of those that just complains WITHOUT offering a solution.
lol…lol…stopped reading your comment at the link to Monsanto’s website. cant stop laughing. anyone that quotes as fact something stated by what was originally (and still is) a main producer of not only highly toxic pesticides but also deadly chemical weapons such as Agent Orange, has some serious reading-up to do.
Having been an organic farmer, and a physician, and knowing HOW food is grown, distributed, and prepared are topics of intense personal and professional interest to me, the movie “Food, Inc” (which was partially based on Eric Schlosser’s excellent book, “Fast Food Nation”), was VERY accurate, and in fact, could only cover the very tiny tip of a gigantic ice berg. And as “mel” pointed out, to use Monsanto’s own website for “debunking” the movie, really begs incredulity. I think you would find it highly useful to do some research about the Monsanto corporation, (for it has even caused financial ruin for many poor, third world countries); the destruction this behemoth corporation has inflicted on others is overwhelmingly well documented by countless parties.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gA7WuWhRzLA&feature=youtube_gdata_player the sirius documentary and the second I must recomend is http://www.dontwatchthisfilm.com
I would add “Hungry for Change” to your list somewhere at the top too.
Where the fuck is Loose Change, in any of its versions? In Plane Sight is a softball version. This must be another Coverup website…
Don’t forget to watch “The Money Masters” by Bill Still. It’s on YouTube.
I strongly recommend the documentary “Esoteric Agenda” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cvp5BcICsig
I cant believ no one has mentioned Empire of the City/Ring of Power
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/7816671/empire_of_the_city_ring_of_power/
