What may seem like an ordinary van to some, is a godsend to many women living in far-flung regions of Kyrgyzstan. You see, a white van carries a team of lawyers and social workers aboard, ready to assist people living in remote places with their legal needs.

Unknown to many, not everyone is fortunate enough to have access to attorneys, but thanks to these good-hearted professionals, marginalized individuals, particularly women in Kyrgyzstan, now have free legal help within reach. They can now get the services of lawyers for alimony cases, divorce cases as well as real property disputes.

These problem of women with land-ownership stemmed after the Kyrgyzstan government ordered all citizens to have equal land holdings. Unfortunately, these properties were only registered to men, essentially robbing women of their right. Because of the free legal services offered by these mobile lawyers, women are now able to fight for what is legally theirs.

Advocacies such as the Bus of Solidarity, give women who are faced with many obstacles such as discrimination, stigma, corruption and violence, equal access to the law, allowing for their voices to be heard.
