A kitten named Koda and a Labradoodle named Jessie love to explore the Canadian wilderness with their human.
It’s not the first time animals of different species have befriended each other, and it certainly won’t be the last. This is a fortunate thing for a kitten named Koda and her best mate named Jessie, an Australian Labradoodle, couldn’t be happier exploring the Canadian wilderness with their human, Emily Aubrecht.
Three-year-old Jessie and four-month-old Koda became best buds when Emily adopted the kitten from a home that was overcrowded, relays Shareably. Apparently, it was love at first sight.
“Jessie instantly became attached to Koda,” Emily says, “she must have thought he was her baby.”
While Jessie wasn’t always a fan of Koda riding on her back, she eventually learned to love it.
Perhaps it’s because Jessie is Koda’s mentor that the indoor cat is anything but shy. He regularly wears a harness as he, his human, and Jessie go on treks.
The trio loves to visit the river, go for drives, and visit the pet shop. Of course, Koda is like most cats in the way that he loves chasing feather toys and munching on wet food.
Like most dogs, Jessie is extremely energetic and friendly. Some of her favorite activities include going on hikes and bike rides.
Bonds of friendship between various species are always heartening to learn about, for they inspire the possibility that people of various cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs may one day come to love and accept each other just as unconditionally.
