Kind Samaritan Gives Shoes To Man Crawling On Scorching Hot Street [Watch]

A homeless man was on his hands and knees trying to cross the hot pavement, which is why this compassionate man stopped and offered him shoes.

After leaving his volunteer shift at a food pantry in Phoenix, Arizona, David Lee Witherspoon Jr. witnessed a shocking site. A homeless man was crawling across the road on his knees and hands which were covered in socks, as he lacked shoes and the cement was hot.

Immediately, Witherspoon pulled over, exited his car and walked over to the man to ask what was wrong. In response, the man explained that he recently lost his place of residence and had to leave in a hurry. As a result, he didn’t have any shoes.

Because temperatures reach the hundreds during the summer in Arizona, Witherspoon ran back to his car and grabbed a second pair of shoes. Reportedly, he keeps the footwear in his car between volunteer shifts at the St. Vincent de Paul’s food pantries at St. Mary’s Basilical and his job at the office of Phoenix Veteran Affairs. He also grabbed a water bottle for the thirsty individual. Following this, he washed and dried the man’s feet then slipped on the shoes.

The Samaritan is receiving hoards of attention for his compassionate act, which he simply proclaims is something any person should do.

“A lot of people give up on people now and that’s the biggest problem,” Witherspoon explained in the video below. “I mean, you don’t have to… empty your wallet or anything like that; just a simple, kind act.”
