Jeff Daniels Blasts Clinton, Trump In Epic ‘Will McAvoy’ Moment [Watch]

During a recent interview on Bloomberg Television, actor Jeff Daniels channeled The Newsroom anchor Will McAvoy to unleash his thoughts about the upcoming presidential election between presumptive nominees Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

The hosts of With All Due Respect, Mark Halperin and John Heinemann, played along, asking the faux news anchor what makes Trump the “best-case scenario” for Clinton.

Daniels, in his McAvoy persona, joked:

“I think for the first time in election history, her opponent might donate to her campaign. Yeah, Donald Trump is a fact-bending loose cannon who alienates mainstream voters with everything he says, but he gets constant media attention for free. There won’t be a day from now until November that Trump isn’t on every TV channel.”

A rant then broke out, with the actor stating:

“There’s absolutely no evidence that Trump is the best-case scenario for Hillary Clinton. 38 percent of the people gave her a favorable rating. 30 percent of the people said she’s honest and trustworthy. Just 22 percent of Democrats say they’re enthusiastic about her being the nominee. Sure, she beats Trump in some categories: like millennials, who don’t even show up to vote. She also leads in number messages deleted on her personal email server. But that aside. When you ask what makes Trump the best-case scenario for Hillary, I don’t know what the f— you’re talking about. His tiny hands?”

You might remember that in the original version of the scene, which opened the HBO series in 2012, McAvoy slammed the United States when a college student asked him why America was the greatest country in the world.
